NLYB Coaching Staff

Revised 3/17/2005

The number one goal of the NLYB Board is that each and every player has fun playing baseball.  Our goal is not to win at all cost, it is to develop the skill of our youth and keep them interested in playing baseball.

1.                  All players that attend practice regularly and do not have a disciplinary problem will play:

T-ball and American-every inning

National-3 innings of every 6 inning game

2.                  In the event of poor practice attendance or should a disciplinary problem arise, the coach will notify the NLYB Board.  The player’s parents will be contacted by the NLYB Board with a decision regarding the players status.

3.                  One of hardest things to do as a coach is to keep and open mind.  Do not let friendships, peer pressure of parental pressure determine how much playing time a player should receive.  The attitude, team spirit and ability of the player should determine where, and how much playing time they receive.

4.                  Use of tobacco while in direct responsibility of ball players is Prohibited.

5.                  Use of Alcohol while in direct responsibility of ball players is Prohibited.  (This includes between games at Tournaments).

A.     1st offense, written warning from NLYB Board

B.   2nd offense, removal as coach or manager, and will have to address the Board for reinstatement.

6.         If ejected by an umpire the manager will be suspended for a period of time determined by NLYB Board, and will have to address the Board for reinstatement.

Behavior warranting Disciplinary Action:

All complaints or disciplinary actions will be formally addressed within one week of the incident or complaint.

All complaints will be documented (NLYB Coach Complaint Form must be completed by complaintee) and reviewed by the New London Youth Baseball Board.  Disciplinary Action will be at the discretion of the board.

7.         All Coaches will be determined by Board review for both League and

All-Stars
